Thinking for a Ride ?? Then it must be in Royal Enfield Beast !

Before You Go On A Long Distance Motorcycle Ride… Things You Must Consider:

If you’re planning a long-distance motorcycle ride in the near future, then you’ll appreciate these tips which I compiled after taking multi-day trips on Royal Enfield.

Physical endurance.

You don’t just wake up one day and decide to ride 1000 or 1500 miles. You have to plan for it, and work up to it.
Not surprisingly, follow to a strict physical training regimen and diet, as any athlete would ... in his case, hitting the gym, and yoga.

A desire to test your limits.

How long can you ride before stretching or sleep … how many miles between fuel stops?
It's not unusual to ride through the night, and end up being covered in bugs and grime after days on the road.  At it's core, this sport is about the competitive spirit to push your physical limits.

The right gear.

If packing for a trip on 4 wheels is a challenge, consider all that can happen over longer distances and multiple climates.  Then think about what you can carry on your bike.

You will need:  Base layer plus clothes, rainsuit, boots, motorcycle gloves, extra socks.  Plus: tools, cell phone, advilfood, bedroll, an auxilliary gas tank, and more..

In case you were wondering ... overnights food and supplies to a checkpoint ahead of time, rides on a special saddle, and gives this unexpected pro tip: wash your clothes in baby soap to lessen chafing.

An understanding of your equipment, and the road.

You need the knowledge (and tools) to handle road emergencies and mechanical breakdowns ... and the experience to know how aggressively you can ride, and still stay safe.

Experience dealing with the unexpected.

When you ride in all conditions and push your limits, you have to rely on your wits. If you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere, or experience some other mishap, what will you do?

You'll also likely see your share of accidents.  Whether you are the one needing help, or you stop to help others, it’s a good reminder to have fun, but also respect the rules of the road and ride safe.

The financial ability to support your habit

Competitive long distance riding isn't cheap. It takes the right gear, and multiple bikes to be serviced and replaced as miles add up.

Taj-ul-Masjid, Bhopal - India's largest mosque

Despite popular belief, the largest mosque in India is not the Jama Masjid of Delhi. It is, in fact, the Taj-ul-Masjid, in the central India town of Bhopal, which is the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh. With an interior area of about 430,000 square feet, the mosque has a capacity of 175,000 people.

The meaning of Taj-ul-Masjid translates to ‘The Crown of Mosques,’ and the magnificent architecture reflects just that. The masjid was built between the years 1868 and 1901, started by Sultan Shah Jehan Begum of Bhopal. Not only is the mosque the largest in the country, but it also happens to be the second largest mosque in Asia. Made of red stone, the mosque is situated by the lake referred to as the Motia Talab.

The mosque has three domes and two minarets. The masjid is open on all days, but non-Muslims are not allowed inside on Fridays. A sign of the determination of the female ruler, the mosque is also a symbol of devotion. The mosque holds remarkable similarity with the architecture of Jama Masjid of Delhi, including the decorations.
The photo was taken in March 2016 during my final year of Engineering :-D
While the construction of the mosque began in the 1800s, it was stalled due to lack of funds. Construction started again in 1971, and through the efforts of Maulana Sayed Hashmat Ali Sahab of Bhopal and Allama Mohammad Imran Khan Nadwi Azhari, the mosque was completely built by 1985. During this stage of construction, the entrance, which is also the eastern gate, was renovated in a very grand manner.
Bhopal is well connected with Delhi and Bombay, and once in the city, reaching Taj-ul-Masjid is not much of a hassle. The location is prime, and the place is one of the important landmarks of the city.

Goa - A perfect holiday destination !

Basilica of Bom Jesus

Let us start with the holy place of GOA.

The Bom Jesus Basilica, perhaps Goa's most famous church and among the most revered by Christians worldwide, is partially in ruins but still a model of simplicity and elegance, and a fine example of Jesuit architecture.

This is the only church in Old Goa, which is not plastered on the outside, the lime plaster having been stripped off by a zealous Portuguese conservationist in 1950.

Located at Old Goa, 10 kilometres east of Panaji, the Bom Jesus Basilica is a World Heritage Monument.

Saint Francis Xavier, S.J. (born Francisco de Jasso y Azpilicueta, 7 April 1506 – 3 December 1552), was a Navarrese-Basque Roman Catholic missionary, born in Javier (Xavier in Navarro-Aragonese or Xabier in Basque), Kingdom of Navarre (now part of Spain), and a co-founder of the Society of Jesus.

He was a companion of St. Ignatius of Loyola and one of the first seven Jesuits who took vows of poverty and chastity at Montmartre, Paris in 1534. He led an extensive mission into Asia, mainly in the Portuguese Empire of the time and was influential in evangelization work, most notably in India.

He also was the first Christian missionary to venture into Japan, Borneo, the Maluku Islands, and other areas. In those areas, struggling to learn the local languages and in the face of opposition, he had less success than he had enjoyed in India. Xavier was about to extend his missionary preaching to China but died in Shangchuan Island shortly before he could do so.

Arjuna's Prenance - The Descent of ganga , Mahabalipuram, India.

The descent of the Ganges is a monument at Mahabalipuram, on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, in the Kancheepuram district of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Measuring 96 by 43 feet (29 m × 13 m), it is a giant open-air rock relief carved on two monolithic rock boulders.
The legend depicted in the bas-relief is the story of the descent of the sacred river Ganges to earth from the heavens led by Bhagiratha.

The waters of the Ganges are believed to possess supernatural powers. The descent of the Ganges and Arjuna's Penance are portrayed in stone at the Pallava heritage site. The relief is more of a canvas of Indian rock cut sculpture at its best not seen anywhere in India. It is one of the Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram that were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984.

Brihadeeswar Temple

One view of the temple

Thanjavur, named after the legendary asura ‘Tanjan’, is one of the oldest cities in India and rose to prominence during the rule of the Later Cholas when it served as their capital. It is home to the Brihadisvara Temple (Periya Kovil) dedicated to Lord Brihadisvara, an incarnation of Shiva.

This temple is part of the Great Living Chola Temples, a World Heritage Site recognised by UNESCO.
I enjoyed a lot and had a great time in Tanjavur during photo shoot.

Krishna's Butter Ball – A Balancing Rock at Mahabalipuram

Krishna’s Butterball is a curious tourist attraction in Mahabalipuram, a town about 60 km south of Chennai famous for its stone carvings. The “butterball” is a giant balancing rock, 5 meters in diameter, perched on a smooth slope, seemingly defying all laws of physics.

In Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna had an insatiable appetite for butter, and as a child would often sneak a handful from his mother’s butter jar. Situated on a hill slope near the Ganesh Ratha this massive natural rock boulder is attributed to a bolus of butter the young Krishna would steal.

This photo was taken when I went outing with my college friends in a bike...Awesome days :-)
